Star Gollnick: My daughter is a student at Laguardia. She is in the art studio (what some schools call "visual art".) I would not recommend including anything in your portfolio that you are not comfortable with. If you feel that you are not strong in painting, don't include any painting. I don't think that will hurt your chances as long as the portfolio shows a variety of work that is truly representative of who you are as an artist, and shows a strong interest in art and a great deal of skill. I don't think it's a question of more or less work, as long as you meet the minimum number of works in your portfolio.
