can vegetarians eat eggs?

Ewa Homrich: i think they can eat the white, but not the yolk.

Jude Kennelly: No not technically since pasta isn't exactly a bread, but it does contain similar ingredients..Pasta contains wheat and that is an ingredient in bread.

Virgil Loatman: For the best answers, search on this site https://shorturl.im/X3GPpDairy cows don't milk continuously. They give birth, and are impregnated again when they come into season again, usually within 2 months. They are then milked twice, sometimes three times a day for approximately 9 months then the milk production lessens and they are allowed to dry up for the last couple of months of their pregnancy. Once they give birth the cycle starts again. Every dairy herd will have some dry cows....Show more

Rashad Marecki: depends on what sort of vegetarian she is. if you're asking because you're cooking for her/inviting her over for food, you should check with her beforehand. although technically, eggs on the market may be unf! ertilised, egg production still leads to suffering on the part of the hens, and chicks that will be reared to give eggs (and to male chicks born at a layer farm, who will often be killed). therefore from a compassionate point of view, although eating eggs is not the same as eating meat, it does cause suffering to animals and so many vegetarians may choose not to consume them....Show more

Coleman Ocegueda: You need to ask your friend yourself. Some vegetarians will make exception for milks and eggs. the so called "lacto-ovo" type. some only eat raw foods. some will eat cooked foods and are strictly vegan while others claim vegetarian but make exception for fish and poultry....

Soraya Coodey: Pasta isn't bread but it is a grain, along with crackers, rice, pretzels and other starchy foods. Fasting means you don't eat anything, not just bread BTW.

Tom Romer: Cows neither produce milk all the time, nor do they only produce milk when they are pregnant. In gener! al, cows begin to produce milk when they give birth and will c! ontinue to do so until they are "dried-off", which happens when their calf is weaned (beef cows) or when the farmer stops milking them (dairy cows). For most cows, milk production increases until about 90 days after they give birth, and then slowly declines during the rest of the lactation. If a dairy cow is re-bred successfully at 60-90 days following calving, she will usually be "dried-off" after a lactation of about 305 days so that her mammary gland has a chance to re-charge for a couple months before she gives birth to another calf. (A cow's gestation period is about 280 days.) Some cows that do not re-breed can be milked continuously for 2-3 years, but production declines sufficiently over time.Remember this: Cows are not milked for about two months before the birth of a calf...Show more

Sherrill Botting: Dairy cows are artificially inseminated every year. That's the only way to keep them lactating. They have been carefully bred over many years to produce very hi! gh quantities of milk. Miss.nomer would like to pretend they naturally evolved to suit the needs of humans. He is wrong, as usual.Additionally, most (but not all) cows are given hormones to boost their milk production even further. This often leads to infections, which means most commercially available milk contains plenty of pus.Sounds delicious, doesn't it?...Show more

Lucien Hellerman: This Site Might Help You.RE:how do cows continuously produce milk?I was under the assumption that cows continued producing milk the same way a woman can - as long as she continues to stay healthy, and as long as she continues to nurse/pump, she will make milk. However, I just read something that the only way cows can continuously make milk is by hormones... I......Show more

Russ Kiernan: A vegetarian can eat anything except meat. In some cases, vegetarians could eat chicken or fish, because technically they aren't meat. Vegans don't eat anything that comes from animals such as! milk or eggs. So, yes, vegetarians can eat eggs.

Marty Tichnell:! Most of the people in the US who identify themselves as vegetarian are lacto-ovo-vegetarians, meaning they eat dairy products and eggs. There are also lacto-vegetarians, who eat dairy but not eggs, and ovo-vegetarians, who eat eggs but not dairy.A vegetarian may also opt to eliminate both eggs and dairy, which may or may not make them vegan. (Veganism is more than just a diet, so there are strict no-eggs, no-dairy vegetarians who do not consider themselves vegan.)...Show more

Troy Monsivais:

Jesse Pirieda: depends on what type of vegetarian she is. if she is vegan she shouldnt have anything that comes from an animal not even clothing. if she is a lacto ovo vegetarian then she can have eggs

Erin Arron: yes pasta is a grain product (bread)

Eldridge Rieves: I was under the assumption that cows continued producing milk the same way a woman can - as long as she continues to stay healthy, and as long as she continues to nurse/pump, she will make milk. Ho! wever, I just read something that the only way cows can continuously make milk is by hormones... I thought all the hormone talk with cows had to do with making the beef cows bigger... do they really give the cows hormones for constant milk production? does it hurt them or is it considered unethical in any way? What are the effects on both the cows and consumers? Thanks for clearing this up! :-)...Show more

Galen Gowers: BOCA!!!!XD LOOK IT UP!!

Cletus Makler: Alot of you are telling me im not fasting well i am. Im doing the daniel fast which is no sweets no bread only fruits and veggies and only drink water. So yes I am fasting and you need to know there are different fast out their. Thank you for your answers

Maritza Ebanks: Eggs are unfertilised. They are not and would never be chicks.Technically, they are considered vegetarian. Whether that's ethical or not is another issue.

Anton Waln: The most common type of vegetarian does. Vegan's do not. V! egans and Vegetarians are not the same thing. There are a few vegetarian! s who don't eat eggs, and some who don't eat dairy. It's up to what the person believes. You're best off asking your friend what kind of vegetarian she is, if she eats dairy and/or eggs, because only she can know, it's her choice after all....Show more

Felipa Nosis: That would be a Vegan. Although I must say your friend does need to replace meat with an alternative like beans and lentils. No matter how much you like animals humans are still omnivores. Which means we need some meat (or protien, ie beans) to survive... You should tell her to make sure she eats lots of alternatives like beans and lentils...

Bruce Calise: if she is simply a vegetarian, then yes she will. if she is a vegan( strict vegetarian) then no she will not. best of luck=]...Show more

Sonya Volcko: Technically, no, however it kinda is. But, Pasta is still just as unhealthy and if you are fasting you should give up pasta too, as that would be more healthy.

Heidi Creselious: Most vege! tarians eat eggs and also use dairy products.

Tory Clapper: You are mostly right.Cows are bred every year to produce a calf.MOst cows are NOT given hormones as they are very expensive and the return in milk usually doesn't compensate for the cost. When the cow is bred for 7 months she is dried up to rest for 2 months until her next calf is born.Hormones are NOT used for constant milk production....Show more

Penelope Armond: oatmeal, almond milk, sliced banana and maple syrup for brekky.apple and bran muffin for snack.lunch- wholewheat sprouted bread with raw butter, soycheese and mango chutney, spinach and roasted vegetables.A small portion of green pea and chckpea salad.YOughrt and fruit for a snackDinner- noodle soup and green veg, stir fried tofu and edamame.Low fat frozen yoghurt for pudding.Tea and juice, throughout the day....Show more

Robin Marchione: It's not a bread, however most are made of grains like wheat and rice. If you're giving up grains in! general, than you should exclude pasta. But specifically, no, pasta is! not a bread :)

Jonie Lauria: Depends if your just not eating meat yesBut if strict vegan ( no animal products ) No

Raul Lushbaugh: They don't. They produce milk for about 10 months, even with the "help" of hormones. There are some comes that produce milk for a few years, but the amount becomes less and less (not fesable, commercially.)Oh look, big surprise once again miss.nomer is either lying or ignorant. Of course cows are fed hormones. Most cows are given recombinant bovine growth hormone (rbGH) in an effort to increase their milk production, with the added "benifit" of reducing their waste. Perhaps miss.nomer is confusing the steriods fed to beef cattle to make them bigger with the hormones given to dairy cattle?"proving that cow milk is meant for humans to drink." What? That is a massive leap from point a to point be, with no support. And that link to soy "myths" is once again the same as always a site with no real support, paid for by the same group ! that puts up the Weston A Price site. What possible reason could ranchers have for hosting anti vegetarian and soy propaganda?...Show more

Garrett Detone: That is a tough question..I am vegetarian but i eat eggs in cookies and cakes but usually not raw in boiled eggs or omelets. Some might debate that eggs are technically meat since it comes from a chicken or some might say that the egg is technically a type of feces from the chicken. Either way, I suggest that she should talk to her parents and try to figure out whether she should eat eggs or not....Show more

Sammy Hatzenbihler: ving up one food does not mean you are fasting. Please refrain from using that word if you want to be taken seriously. PAsta is usually made of dough. Wheat, rice, lentil or oatmeal flour and water, oil and sometmes eggs. So, depends on where your noodles are from. The italian style pasta is usually made from wheat or corn. Corn is a fruit, wheat is a grain. But either way, this isn't ! fasting, it's just avoiding bread ( or wheat I'm guessing)....Show more!

Barton Slisz: If it's a water fast, then why add other rules like "no pasta or bread"? Anyway, yes there are different types of fasts out there, all of which involve not eating. That's what fasting is. If you just cut out pasta or bread, that's not a "fast." In fact, that's not even a diet. It's just not eating bread or pasta....Show more

Hong Hunkin: I believe so, because it's not like the egg is fertilized or anything, so you didn't have to kill anything to eat it... I've seen a vegetarian eat eggs before.

Avis Brantner: How Do Cows Make Milk

Efren Clankscales: Yes they can as it isn't the meat itself but only comes from the animal.Whether or not your friend wants to eat it is up to her to decide.

Melvina Bieri: No your friend can't eat eggs if she is a vegetarian. Egg is just like a baby, it still (sort of) is meat. I know this sounds weird but just think of it this way vegetarians eat vegetables and eggs are in meat/protain section.

Len Bormes: Eggs and whole wheat toast with some fruit is a good breakfast. Or a frozen fruit/tofu/juice smoothie, which is my breakfast of choice.Tuna salad with a vinegarette instead of mayo is good, especially when over dark leafy greens and other colorful veggies. And baked fish w/ brown rice and roasted veggies is always a good dinner....Show more

Donny Bankson: I need to start eat in healthy.and i want to know what i should eat.someone help?

George Dingeldein: It's actually kind of sad. Like a woman, cows are impregnated, and once their calves are born, they begin producing milk. Then, to keep the calf from drinking up all the milk, they take away the calf, feed him formula, and continue milking the cow. Farmers milk this cow as long as she is able to produce the milk. They may add hormones, I'm not sure, but I'm sure it'd probably lengthen the time she's able to produce milk. The unethical part is mainly that they take the calf away from its mother a! t a very young age and milk the cow every single day as long as she wil! l provide it. Then, once she can't provide anymore, they give her a quick break and impregnate her again. It doesn't physically hurt them, but it's just kind of mean....Show more

Sheldon Lally: No but it can be unhealthy if it's not whole grain pasta.

Vernita Robberson: You'll obviously have to ask your friend whether she chooses to eat eggs or not, but yes, she can still eat eggs and be vegetarian. The eggs you buy from shops are unfertilized so they would never hatch into a chick. It's like a woman having her period. When you have a period, it's not a baby, is it? It's just the egg coming out of the body as a waste product. It's the same with hens. Unfertilized eggs are just a waste product and are like a woman having her period. But your friend should eat free range eggs, because the hens can go outside....Show more

Lissette Semon: Theoretically, a cow will keep producing milk naturally after having one calf if she was being milked, however, her milk pr! oduction will decrease and therefor not be as profitable. In order to keep her milk production high (and profitable), she is kept continually pregnant (resulting calves = veal). Hormones are used to further increase milk production. Making this much milk and giving birth this often is unnatural, and takes a toll on the cow's body. By the time she is a few years old, she is "spent", and sometimes incapable of walking. Cows can naturally live up to 20 years. The effects on consumers? Well, you're drinking the hormones for starters. Milk is designed for infant animals of the same species, so unless you're a calf, there is no reason to be drinking cow's milk, and unless you're an infant, there is no reason to be drinking milk at all....Show more

Nadia Crauswell: You are right is assuming that cows are similar to humans. As long as we take the milk, the cow will continue to produce more. Over time she produces less and less until she is practically dry. This could take ! anywhere from 9 months to over a year, depending on the cow. The hormo! ne sometimes used in dairy cattle is called recombinant bovine somatotropin. This is a protein hormone, naturally produced by the cow soon after calving, when milk production is highest. It is given through injection, every 2 weeks during the middle third of the lactation. It is in no way related to estrogen or any other steroid or "sex" hormone. There are many different types of hormones. Beef cattle may be given steroid hormones to grow quicker. The use of this hormone extends the lactation of the cow by making her body think she has recently calved and needs to produce more milk. She will not produce this milk if she is sick or lacks proper nutrition, the hormone doesn't work that way. She will still dry up over time, it just takes longer with the added hormone. The effect of this hormone on humans is non-existent. It's not really a disputed fact among the educated. Because it is a protein hormone, it is broken down into amino acids just like any other protein y! ou eat. You can eat a whole treatment tube and it wouldn't affect you in any way. There is an effect on the cow. Not necessarily because of the hormone intself, but because of the increase in milk production. Higher milk production is directly proportional to an increase of udder health problems such as mastitis. Genetic selection also increases this same risk, so if you are against rBST then you should also be against genetic selection.EDIT: The hormones given to dairy cows have absolutely nothing to do with early puberty in childern. As I said, they are protein hormones, not steriods. There is a Harvard study about the amount of estrogen naturally occuring in milk being harmful. This study was inconclusive, more research needs to be done.Cows are not raped btw. They come into heat and scream and rant around until they are bred. They really don't care how they get bred. A.I. is not painful for them. It takes 2 seconds and it's over. It's nothing like a big mean! bull crushing you with it's 2000 pounds and slamming you around with h! is head and trying to breed you when you're not in heat and trying to kill your feeder and caregiver.None of our cows have sores on their teats. They willingly come in to be milked. If we are late, they throw a major fit. And the pus means mastitis, which is not put into the food supply. We treat those cows until they are healthy. Also we have many cows over the age of 5. Our oldest is 12 and still kicking. And cows do not live to be 30. Generally a very old cow, that has not had to work at all and had the best nutrition, could live to be 20....Show more
