Cliff Tyre: Archery? ? ? After a couple beers you can whizz that far. NO ! And if you are not in a country setting,or have a large backdrop, also if just before you release an arrow your quick release fails or your finger slips ,then where will that practise target head end up? At full draw they are dangerous for several hundred yards at killing speeds.
Mark Hovanes: Unfortunately, as far as I'm aware, the only real course of action for these boar is termination. The likely cause of their invasion is a population boom. They're spreading out as their numbers increase and becoming a menace. Trapping is fine but you'll probably find there are more pigs than traps anyway. A huge concern is the fact that wild boar carry disease in the form of bacterial, viral, and parasite. Yep, all three. And obviously these diseases can spread to other animals and some even to humans. They'd definitely be inedible. The best way to deal with them might be to set up some small City Sup! ervised hunting parties on a specified evening each week to patrol the areas between the homes and the swamp. Being only one night per week and the whole town knowing about it there's not going to be any noise complaints and everyone should be able to cope with it for one night and perhaps even using some noise suppressors on the rifles might help....Show more
Sharri Scalley: More importantly- Whats at the end of your garden? If you overshoot your target what are you going to end up hitting? There should never be the chance of having people behind your target or down range from where you are shooting.
