Rosella Figliola: Hello Gambit,I can see where removing the cooperation as an entity in society can be appealing as it encourages the individual to excel on his or her own merit and in fact can be the purest form of meritocracy. However, it is important to remember that the corporation is merely and extension of a primaly present social complex within the the human psyche- the family.Depending on how you look at it, the corporation is either a refinement or perversion of the family unit: As an entity the corporation is completely like a voluntary family unit that has the ability to freely purge unhealthy or unproductive units. In tribal times and in families behaviors that are counterproductive to the families established goals are ejected via social pressure (physical pressure if the degree is sever enough). Strictly sociologically speaking this is one common hypothesis as to why retarded, maimed, homosexual, mentally ill and elderly people are pushed to the edges of soc! iety. So to reject such an idea would require the rejection of a fundamental priori. That is not to say that it is not a productive thought process, indeed some of the greatest philosophical developments are birthed in the light of rejecting priories. The Allegory of the cave is based on the rejection of the idea that we can truly understand anything in this experience and leads us to accept the possibilities of truths we cannot see. In any case, we would love the hear what you propose a corporationless society would entail....Show more
